Students spent the period writing their informative essay.
HOMEWORK:
The completed research notes were due on Google Classroom at the beginning of the period. Students had the remainder of the period to work on writing an outline for the essay. Again, see Google Classroom!
Students finalized their topic and then spent the period researching. Look on Google Classroom for more information.
In class we watched a Vice episode titled "The Missing 43". After, I explained the informative essay they would have to write about modern Mexico. Students picked a topic and wrote an essential question.
In class today, you must complete the following tasks:
1. Read these two articles about Donald Trump:2. Read these two articles about Hillary Clinton:3. Pick one candidate that you will vote for during the TuHS mock election, and write one well written paragraph (at least 8 sentences) that explains who you will be voting by incorporating textual evidence.
5. For the remainder of class, you can either study, do homework, watch debate highlights or watch this TED Talk with headphones. I handed back your tests, and told everyone that they had an opportunity to make corrections (the maximum score is a meets) and they needed to bring the test back next class. During class, we watched the PBS documentary "Kingdom of Shadows" about the Mexican cartels.
Today we did a quick review, and then students had the remainder of the period to take the test! Tests will be handed back next class.
